Shadow Dungeon Bosses: What's Confirmed & How to Prepare

What’s Officially Confirmed

  • The 0.4.0 update added one new chapter containing 10 bosses across 30 levels — the best public signal of boss density across the 160-level campaign.
  • The Demon Lord “lurks beneath the abyss” as the campaign’s ultimate antagonist (store description).
  • Boss-tier enemy types include demonic beings, undead warriors, cyclopes and cultist leaders.

OO Cat hasn’t published a full boss list or per-boss stats, and we won’t guess numbers. This page tracks verified facts and general preparation; it grows as official notes land — changes get logged in the site’s update feed.

Boss Preparation That Always Works

Bring your buff key. The 1.0 one-button buff-potion feature exists for boss doors. Every consumable buff you’re hoarding is damage you didn’t do.

Check your granted skills before the door. Projectile-blocking shields (a 1.0 weapon-skill type) trivialize ranged boss phases; auras stack passive pressure during dodge windows. Swapping to a boss-weapon is free — do it.

Respect map scaling. Bosses scale with their map, not with you. If a boss wall feels unfair, your gear is behind the map’s drop tier — one farming pass of the current map (not older ones) usually fixes it. See items.

Class Notes for Boss Rooms

  • Necromancer: minions eat mechanics; re-summon between phases rather than mid-phase.
  • Sorcerer: damage is never the problem — bank a defensive affix set for boss maps.
  • Archer: single-target spine shines here; traps pre-laid at spawn points front-load damage.
  • Holy Warrior: projectile-block shields turn ranged phases into free hits.

Beyond the Campaign

Post-story, boss encounters continue inside Greater Rifts across four difficulties, where higher tiers raise rare-drop odds — the endgame boss loop.
